That Moon

Image
That moon tonight, burning  bright. reminding everyone of a beacon light. The moon, lost in thought, wondering, wishing, yearning to bathe you in her vivid light. That moon, speaking of  a tale tonight, days gone by and once upon a time, of people gathered to worship in her glow,  now her fame long gone ,she hangs all alone at night she takes center stage, shining on the darkness,  ignoring her we yearn for the morning sunlight. That Moon tonight inspired this poem. Go look! It is full, it is bright, and inspires me as I write. Hope you are well, what are you all writing these days? Darkness On My Doorstep

Chen YiChun Depression seems to have many of us in its grips coming out of 2020. More people voted this year, but they also record numbers sought help. Many ended the year speaking with a therapist. And darkness was held up at the doorstep and not let in. I know for many though they suffered alone, in pain, and in the darkness. Guild and shame stopping them from going into the light to ask for help. Mental illness still has a stigmatize associated with it, so people fear for saying they are not doing ok. They say yeah I am fine but inside the darkness is crushing their souls. For my 2020 held my family in fear. Trust was an issue of who went where and why. As so many families ours was ripped apart. Darkness has been on my doorstep more than once this past year. Many tears, on my part, were shed. Dealing with depression and anxiety this year held me back. When I wanted to do A, I did W. when I wanted to go here, I stayed in and cried. Community, family, and living my life all had dark

New Year, New Goals, New habits.

See your dreams ahead!  As 2021 begins I have to wonder why so many people are setting new goals and new habits. How about a word for the year or a resolution? What about changing into a new calendar to start a new year makes us make these decision at the stroke of midnight.  Perhaps they were made in 2020 and at the start of a new year we realize we are facing ourselves in the mirror and see we lied to ourselves. We said we would do X, we said we would achieve Y. Well let me say you are not alone. So many people set the best of intentions but have no follow through.  Here are a few steps to help you move forward in a year where we have literally frozen in our homes. 1) Purge your home. Yes get rid of things you don't use or haven't seen in years, but purge those relationships not working for you, those negative nancy types who tell you why bother, you cannot do that, you cannot achieve your dreams. Purge yourself of these types of people. Look for the leaders, hell be a leader
