Lazy Sunday's
Recently I have been stuck on thinking about Sunday being the lazy day. It is a day we give our selves the grace to self care, to do nothing, to linger longer, to take our time with everything! Life seems even better on a Sunday. Some of us are up and heading to church, some read the paper and stay in bed, some of us are jogging (why? haha) and some of us are sipping our coffee and lingering on the front porch in our PJ's. Life on a Sunday seems a bit calmer just because it is Sunday. We lay around, we do more together, we make brunch, we do it though at such a pace that it is enjoyable. We take more time to give our family food made with love, not out of obligation to feed them.
Sunday is the day of rest. The cat in the above photo has the right idea. He or She is enjoying the bed a little bit longer. Cats know how to do life. I imagine this cat waking and then knowing it is a Sunday, rolls over and goes back to sleep. Oh the life of a cat, don't get me started. Seriously though Sunday has us taking deeper breaths, it allows us time for contemplation, soul searching and re-connection to our loved ones. The time clock even seems to click slower, tick...tock...tick...tock. Life is relaxing in the hammock on a Sunday with a lemonade in hand. Sunday comes once a week like a gift. It is ours to open and enjoy ever so slowly.
Monday through Friday we rush through the week at work. Saturdays are soccer games, racing to store after store for toilet paper, clothing, shoes, grabbing a coffee at the drive through. Sunday is magic. It holds us tight and whispers that all is right in the world. It tells us to relax, enjoy, open the house windows and enjoy the jasmine smell coming in. Stare out the window, watch the birds, have that second cup of homemade iced tea,but through it all, do it slowly and with purpose. This is your one life and it is racing past you the other six days a week.
Sunday is your day! It is for you a gift. Take the gift and do what you want with it. You can do anything you want, when you want, and with whom you want. If you want a day alone, then make it so, if you want to gather friends, do it!! If you want to lay about lazily, well enjoy it! Sometimes peace is the greatest gift of all. Enjoy your one life. Like I said it is short, make it sweet!

Sunday is a busy day for us, seeing people at church and getting involved with grandchildren . It's also restful in a funny sort of way. I enjoy the daqy of celebration. Not really one for cat like resting.
