He opened the door to her heart when he said he loved her,
but she wanted to close it due to not trusting him.
Did he open it, or did he push it? She needed to know.
Either way her heart was currently exposed for the world to break.
Melting her soul like an ice cube on a hot radiator, she could see herself drifting away into his arms.
Losing herself a little at a time just like the ice slowly changing form, she was also.
Everyday she yearned to be the person she used to be,the person she was before he arrived.
She was sufficient, proficient, and reliant only on herself,
Now she liquefied into him every time he was near, losing more of herself and becoming more of him.
Why was her path on this particular journey,
Wasn’t she enough alone for her own life to include happiness?
Hadn’t she been content with life before his arrival?
Now she worried, maybe she doesn’t understand love at all.

New Poem :)
A lot of what I write comes from a current emotion. Love seems to be a huge theme of what I write. Also happiness and understanding. I think the world right now in this time of Covid needs more of love, happiness and understanding. I pray you all are safe!

Happy Writing everyone,
Your poet/storyteller,
Debbie
