Valentine's Day 2021
Valentine's day is right around the corner, but is it really even needed? People have been debating if it is a made up holiday, something set up to prove you love someone, or perhaps just a day to celebrate love, no gifts needed.
Whatever you believe it is coming up. For me I truly believe you should not need a day to celebrate love. To give yourself to someone wholly is a great gift. To be there through all the up and down days, to stand by your person/partners side is of benefit to you and the person you are there for. Each day is a struggle lately with covid, people saying it is here to stay, people stuck inside with snow and gray skies, we need to show love more now than ever before.
I will not debate if it is a holiday made up by a store to buy presents, because I believe that you are a present to the someone you love. You are a gift of grace and love. You my sweet friend are worth more then roses, candy, jewelry, and anything else that can be store bought. You are the perfect gift for someone.
Sometimes that someone is yourself. We are so harsh with ourselves. Practice some grace on yourself. Buy yourself a book you have always wanted, treat yourself to something you need, like a luxury bath, fuzzy socks, a new scarf, or like in any relationship you just need to gift yourself time, or energy to do something, perhaps grand permission to dream about achieving a goal.
We give others such grace and forgiveness, maybe you need to forgive yourself. Maybe something happened and you handled it poorly, forgive yourself. You may have done something that you think is beyond forgiveness, but do it anyways.Allow yourself to heal, to process, to do whatever your heart needs. It is your Valentine's day too! Like is challenging enough getting from one to another, but you need grace for you too.
As we approach Valentine's day remember that you are loved, you are enough for you, you are whole all on your own. You have all that you require in you! That is where your passion and love live. Set them free for Valentine's day and let others know they are loved as well. Draw hearts and hand them out, write notes to co-workers, spread love everywhere you go,which includes yourself!
Happy Early Valentine's Day
